Comforting dish made healthy!

² Ingredients

  •  1 tsp Olive Oil
  •  3 serving (serving = 1 tsp) Spice Classics Italian Seasoning
  •  3 dash Black Pepper
  •  3 dash Salt
  •  4 serving (serving = 2 oz dry) Tinkyada Brown Rice Pasta Spirals
  •  1 fl oz Red Table Wine
  •  2 tbsp Tomato Paste
  •  2 tbsp Basil
  •  3 cloves Garlic
  •  1/2 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
  •  1 cup, chopped Kale
  •  5 medium slice (1/4" thick) Tomatoes
  •  1 lb Ground Beef (95% Lean / 5% Fat)

q Directions

Start by browning the meat in a pot. Add salt, pepper and Italian seasoning and only cook until all pink is gone. Remove meat from pan and set aside. Add chopped onions and garlic to the pan and cook in the fat left from the beef. Add the same seasonings to the pan, and saute vegetables. Then add the chopped tomatoes, splash of red wine and the tomato paste. Mix and add another layer of the same seasonings lightly. Add the beef and chopped basil and mix together before covering and letting it simmer on low for about an hour. Mix it up once or twice. When sauce is almost done cook the brown rice pasta. Add in kale right at the end, stir in and the sauce will slightly cook it. Mix it all up and top with basil (parm too if you want!)
