This homemade Nutella has only a few ingredients, and is totally vegan, dairy free and gluten free!
If hazelnuts aren't roasted, cook them in a single layer on a baking sheet for 40-45 minutes. Let them cool before removing most of the outside skin by rolling handfuls of the nuts in your hands. I only removed about 80% just to make the texture a little smoother.
Add the hazelnuts to the food processor first, and pulse them to desired texture. Add in coconut oil if needed to make creamier. Add in cacao powder, vanilla extract, coconut sugar and pinch of salt. Pulse until well combined! Makes about 1 pint of spread. Enjoy on toast, or even in smoothies!
