I do love Nutrigrain Bars, but while they may deceive you into thinking they are nutritious bars made from grains, they are actually less nutritious than you may think... racking up 11g of sugar, with sugar, fructose and corn syrup among the list of over 50 ingredients! Anything with that many ingredients makes me wonder what it really is. These bars truly are "nutritious grain bars" that you can enjoy knowing exactly what they're composed of, because you make them yourself! And TRUST ME– they're easy!! I used my homemade jam in the center.
Combine all ingredients together in a processor or blender.
Create a dough ball, and place in a plastic wrap. Transfer to refrigerator and chill for one hour.
Preheat oven to 350F.
Once chilled, roll out the dough into a rectangle, about 1/4–1/3" thick.
Spread homemade jam over the dough.
Fold the rectangle in half, meeting the corners of one side to the other.
Cut off the "fold, and cut the square/rectangle of stacked dough into 12 bars (or however many you'd like).
Transfer bars to a baking dish lined with foil and sprayed. Bake 10–15 minutes, until cooked through.
Devour warm, or enjoy later cool!
Yields 12 bars.
