Many tomato sauces are high in sodium and added sugars. A great alternative to those sauces is to make your own! You can do so with 2 simple ingredients: tomatoes and garlic, in addition to any of your preferred seasonings
1. Rinse your tomatoes (the more you use the more sauce you will have! Therefore, you can use as many, or as little, as you like)
2. Fill a pot with water and turn on the stove on high
3. If you're using baby tomatoes put them in whole, if you're using big ones, dice them
4. Gently place them in the pot
5. Cut up your garlic and put it in the pot and stir
6. Add whichever other seasonings you like
7. Once the water is boiling and the skin on the tomatoes looks wilted, remove them from the water using a strainer spoon and place them in a separate bowl to cool for a few minutes
8. Pour the tomatoes in a blender and blend until smooth
9. Taste and add seasonings such as italian vegetable seasoning until you like the taste of it
Enjoy!
